Asbestos Disposal in Perth

We recognise the importance of correct handling and disposal of asbestos. In the southern suburbs of Perth, we see a great deal of change going on, with many homes being renovated or demolished.

Homes built before 1987 will have asbestos components and these homes are the ones that many of us are renovating or demolishing. So whether you have small or large amounts of asbestos you need removed, make sure you understand the current protocols.

Our skip bin hire prices are your best option for asbestos disposal.

Small Quantities Pick-Up Service

Some DIY projects in the home may uncover only small amounts of asbestos.

At Melville Bin Hire, we are happy to receive a photo via text of the amount to give you a free quote on a maximum 4 sheets and 10 bags, until the end of this financial year, 30 June.

We then send you a DIY Asbestos Removal Pack. When you notify us that the job is done, and provided the wrapping has been correctly carried out, WE pick it up and WE dispose of it. You don’t need to make the trip to the disposal site.

For Your Safety

Before you embark on a DIY project that you know will involve asbestos removal, we suggest finding out how to keep yourself and others involved safe.

Essential information about asbestos removal is on the Commonwealth Government’s Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency website: www.asbestossafety.gov.au

The information this website provides applies to Commercial and Industrial companies; DIY Renovators; Trades People; Real Estate Agents; and Importers.

Whoever is doing your asbestos removal will need to have a licence for that purpose. However, less than 10 square metres of (non-friable) bonded asbestos can be removed without a licence. 21/05/19 -Ref: www.commerce.wa.gov.au/worksafe/do-i-need-asbestos-removal-licence

Procedures and Systems

Before removing asbestos, look online for the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996, and Part 9 of the Code of Practice for the Safe Removal of Asbestos – 2nd Edition [NOHSC: 2002 (2005)] and Code of Practice for the Management and control of asbestos in workplaces. Also find the Removal Checklist for non friable asbestos.

Once you have placed your correctly wrapped asbestos waste in a Melville Bin Hire skip, your job is done. We then transport it to a designated asbestos waste site.

Melville Bin Hire is a family business launched in 2000. Our service is personalised and we put safety of customers and workers first.

Our varied bin sizes mean we can match your needs and budget, whether your project requires short term or long term waste management.
